I had a conference call this morning with the people I will be working with in La Paz. It was difficult talking through an interpretor on technical matters especially on a conference call, where I can't see who is talking.
However, I am starting to get some clarity on my assignment. The Bolivian government regulates airline tariffs for flights within the country and needs to collect financial and quantitaive data from the airlines in order to adjust them. I will be advising on the creation of an accounting manual for the collection and analysis of this information based on International Accounting Standards.
